Work In Progress from Summer 2024

All ceramic work ranging from mid to high fire

Image below shows all work created during the range of June-August 2024. Pick up date for finished glazed pieces are on Aug 16.

I will show a series of images that highlight the pieces most of note grouped together by theme.

A. Female Form

The images below show a set of vases are renditions of the female form, each taking inspiration from a form of insecutiy or trauma. The forms stems from a bottle made in 2023, also below.

B. Mourning

The images below show one creation of an urn for a lost baby.

C. Childhood Brought Back to Life

The images below show a rendition of my childhood drawings of castles as well as the drawings themselves. It is created with 4 sections stacking on top of one another with pointed arched doors and heart and star shaped windows cut out.

D. Making My Dreams Come True

Following this theme of princesses and castles, I created a cake stand using thrown bases and attached decorations (repetitive) using a slip casting mold (self-made). This brought to life the ostentatious nature that I had desired from my drawings as a child.

E. A Thank You

A coffee set created for my oldest brother. Included as well is a pair of mugs with ledges on the bottom to allow for more aeration in the coffee. This is a new design my brother was interested in by another company, so I created a version for him to test out.
