Ceramic Cups with Low Fire Clay

The inspiration for these bouldering mugs comes from a family member starting to rock climb, saying that their day to day has changed because while walking through his day, he was starting to pay attention to areas and walls that he could climb. This brought up ideas seen earlier with bouldering handles being attached to mugs created resulting in my version of a bouldering mug, calling back to the colors seen on my elementary school rock climbing wall.

Another iteration were creating using a red clay base and white handles.

The cup itself is glossy smooth with a clear glaze being applied while the handles are rough and textured remaining bare clay with underglaze creating a similar texture to the bouldering handles.
